JewishHit brings original songs and fresh adaptations together in English. The ambition is a living repertoire for home, celebration, community and the wider world.
Some songs begin with familiar musical traditions. Others are original compositions. Each has its own history, words, recording and credits.
English was Walter J. Kin’s ambition from the beginning of his project work in 2016. In his account, he found Olga Anikina’s Russian adaptations, acquired rights and commissioned further texts and revisions, then brought arrangements and singers to the repertoire.
