A release system

The weak version of the project says:

Jewish songs do not exist in English, so I will translate them.

It fails for three reasons. English versions already exist, translation sounds merely technical, and the cultural problem becomes reduced to language.

The stronger version is:

Jewish songs have reached the mainstream before, but mostly through rare breakthroughs. I have spent nine years building a repeatable bridge: research the source, re-author the song for a new language, produce it for contemporary listeners, and preserve the story behind it. In English. brings that proven human method to the language in which the next worldwide collaboration can happen.

The shortest formulation is:

The project is not a translation archive. It is a release system for Jewish songs to live as contemporary English-language culture.

13.1. Why this is digital storytelling

Each release contains three connected works:

1. Song: the emotional entrance.
2. Screen: performance, lyric visual, video or short-form interpretation.
3. Story page: origin, words, credits, rights, human context and listener response.

YouTube provides discovery. HavaNagila.org provides the narrative journey. JewishSong.org provides the long-term encyclopedia and provenance layer. Together they form cultural infrastructure rather than a promotional showcase.

13.2. How this differs from preservation alone

An archive preserves what existed. This project adds four actions:

• create a new English-language work;
• test it with a living audience;
• invite contemporary artists and communities;

• return versions, results and audience response to the record.

The cycle closes:

archive + adaptation + release + audience + living archive.
